Somewhere between a button, a jewel and a miniature decorative object, this remarkable vintage piece combines the softness of celadon green with beautifully aged gold accents.

Crafted from glazed ceramic, this 28 mm button features an unusually sculptural construction. A subtly recessed, faceted centre is surrounded by six generously modelled scrolls, each delicately highlighted with gold.

The soft celadon green glaze, with the subtle variations and tiny irregularities characteristic of an older piece, creates a beautiful contrast with the gently aged gilded details. As the light moves across the surface, it reveals the button's curves, depth and variations in glaze.
