This button evokes the soft appearance of a cocoon. I fully accept this interpretation.
Made of silver metal in the 1930s, it combines a matte and glossy finish for a unique and refined visual effect. With this button which combines simplicity and silver shine, you add a touch of sophistication to your very couture and trendy creations. Despite its appearance, this button is neither Zamac nor zinc. Its center is adorned with a sophisticated decor composed of mini-waves, made from stamped metal.
Its front is superb but its back shows traces of oxidation, proof that its back is not the same metal as its perfect front, like new. When I first encountered these buttons, they were carefully presented on their original plates, proudly displaying their “French Manufacturing” designation.
This testifies to their antiquity, dating back well before the Second World War, well before the expression "Made in France" was popularized by the Americans after the war.
Notice to stylists and designers: these buttons are available in a good quantity for a capsule collection.
