Why fashion reveals us?

We live, I live a great fashion era! Born in the mid-60s, I wore elephant pasta pants and big strawberries.

And I do not know if you feel the same as me, but in recent months, I have the impression that the fundamentals of Yves Saint Laurent and Miss Chanel return to the heart of trends: a body unveiled-released.

So this is it. Let’s go for a decoding session around a fashion that exposes us and reveals us!

When designers reveal us

translucent fashion
Boots Doc Martens – Hat Martin Margiela – Top and pants Issey Miyake – Translucent Crocodile Jacket Hermès & Jean-Paul Gaultier – Gigi Hadid en Fendi

Basically, fashion designers are like us! More precisely, they know us well … Because above all, there is no question of disclosure but of interchangeable fashion. The spring-summer 2018 season is full of trench coats and translucent overcoats that subtly reveal our silhouette.

Transparency effects

fashion transparency
From left to right: Pants Iris Van Herpen – Arm cuff Donna Karan – Dress Leaves Leandro Cano – Derbies & Other Stories – Cuff Michael Kors

But what is even more interesting I find, it is these audacities of forms and materials! Mix of PVC orsoft vinyl with pictos, inclusion of flowers!

Technological innovations

unusual fashion
From left to right: Sequins’ dress Prada – Cara Delevigne by Mario Testino in MiuMiu – Silver PVC top by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac – Converse – Jean-Paul Gaultier – Hat by Chanel

But contrary to appearances, wearing transparent clothing conceals technological prowess! Like Chanel and his hats felt and plexiglass. Because yes, now, the fabric rubs the flexible plastic and micro perforated!

Trench coats or translucent summer coats

transparent trench
From left to right: Trench Wanda Nylon – Trench MiuMiu – Blue spots jacket ASOS – Trench with white buttons – Trench cover bag – Trench Wanda Nylon

Here, no comment! It’s beautiful. It sculpts and draws our forms like nobody. And besides, it’s fun, light and creative.

In summary, dare to show you every angle! So, do not hesitate to abuse buttons that are the hit of trends and fashion today … and tomorrow.

Beautiful jewelry buttons that accessorize your outfits and dress a very feminine transparency !!!

Christmas or the list of all our desires

Let’s go crazy, Christmas is coming! I do not know about you, but I’m waiting for the snow (and not the deluge!). So let’s have fun: let’s go out, let’s move and let’s all take advantage of the cold weather to be beautiful!

And with this white come all the colors of which we dream and which marry so well. Let’s go for the list of all our desires and whishes: white is colorful!

Christmas landmark

Every year, Christmas is THE time of all landmarks. So, forget our ‘every day’ because desire is selfish. And to have fun is often to please others. For the holidays, be unique! #lovechristmasforever

‘Coup de coeur’ gifts

Often, as you most certainly, I act by heart stroke. It’s like a desire! And there, without hesitation, I tend to favor handmade and exceptional craftsmanship. Unusual decorative objects, astute or daring fashion accessories, vintage or contemporary. I do not care as long as they touch me!!!
Like the cushions of Maison Popineau, a brand Made in France and eco-friendly … like BUTTONS PARADISE. Thank you Dear Aurore for this original palette. I love your cushions, and your alphabet. And I can not resist thinking BUTTONS when I see them! A treat buttons design or jewelry to give them an exquisite personal touch! Besides, why not give yourself original buttons or to your loved ones?
Christmas shopping and all our desires
Hat, Zara – Removable Leather Franges, Raoulle
Other gift ideas winks with Zara and his special hat for rebel head! Do not hesitate, for your Christmas meal, to adopt a casual chic look with the fringes of Raoulle, a brand from the Western part of France called Nantes that climbs and pimps your pumps. Trivially, yes, but so funny. And above all, it’s their signature! But above all, it is a genius idea to dress your tennis shoes! A gift that will be noticed suddenly and very much appreciated because so much hype!

More reasonable are the candles like those at Casa. Sweet price but “this candle lights up your day”! But if you are looking for the rare and the new, then vote for the candles of my friend Christelle with the subtle scents of the vineyards. A great vintage made in France. And its homemade candles compete resolutely scents with those of Dyptique, another sure value if you like the fig tree and sun!

Party accessories

At Christmas, shine colors to dazzle the white or on the contrary, accessorize the black of your dress! And to pimp your look, a trendy accessory or a few buttons are enough!

Welcome to l’ATTELIER Fashion Accessories

Months that the project was under preparation. Because the idea of designing fashion accessories arrived faster than expected. First with the oversized [button] necklaces, the “famous” design necklace Pirogues, then the Ice collar [button] series in Plexiglas . After that, the Eden cuff bracelets and their lacquered buckles on acidulated vinyl leather …

And suddenly, everything happily rushed. The orders, the tailor-made, the designer and ‘couturier’ solicitations. And sales were chained. A bracelet, two bracelets, ten necklaces, then twenty. Merciiiii to you all !!!!

So behind the scenes, welcome to a growing brand.
Indeed, it was time to create a complete Accessories line alongside BUTTONS PARADISE!

An ‘ATTELIER’ with two T? Crazy, isn’t it! But why?

Attelier in French is Atelier for Workshop. But the metamorphosis of the word ‘Attelier’ as if you wrote ‘workkshop’ is far from trivial to me. ATTELIER with two T’s, it is the craft of both hands and the double ‘T’ of Buttons. It is now the creation and marketing of the BUTTONS PARADISE Accessories range.

Tradition, Innovation & Up-cycling!

Up-cycling? Just a rapid digression for language matters to my English, Canadian and American friends. From a strictly French point of view, Up-cycling could sound like another barbarous word?! Not really ! Because at L’ATTELIER, priority is given to the art of majestic diversion. Just need to explain: a rare, contemporary or vintage sewing button or a belt buckle sublimate our most simple and sophisticated outfits. So why not transcend usages and innovate by turning them into jewelry?

It is funny because as I am writing you, the word ‘sculpture‘ is reasoning and reasoning again. Some know it, others do not, but I am passionate about sculpture. So, I dare. Simply because to imagine a couture button or jewel loop, in mother-of-pearl, wood essence, galalithe or acetate to adorn them in bracelets, design necklaces or bib necklaces are gestures and creations that inspire me sculptures.

Without doubt, Picasso, Delaunay, Arp, Giacometti, Garouste were interested in the love of the voluptuousness of shapes. They took an interest in haute couture buttons for creating them. And I wanted to tell you this so much.

Fashion accessories: diversion of the most chic items

Art, painting, surrealism, cinema and even some everyday objects inspire creators of luxury clothes and accessories. On the podiums of weekend fashions and in boutiques, fashion geniuses display their magical and surreal accessories, hats and handbags. Discover these diverted fashion accessories, pure products of their imagination and the diversion of objects that they manage to sublimate. Admire the creative madness of Jean-Paul Gaultier, Stephen Jones for Dior, Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel or the superb creations straight out of the Buttons Paradise workshops!

Hats and objects diverted: very high pitched haute couture!

Diverted hats, eccentric, directly inspired by the paintings of Millet and its rural scenes. Diversion of materials or even natural materials by Jean-Paul Gaultier or Viktor to enhance their haute couture collection spring 2015. Beauty of the huge basketwork hat inspired by traditional suspensions and created by Esme Hofman for Asha Swillens. How can one remain insensitive to all this grace mingled with the surrealism of these headgear?

The world of Stephen Jones is much more surreal. He diverts everyday objects like colorful gloves or a palette and an artist’s brush, to create totally crazy and poetic hats. Here the diversion of accessories starts from an artistic discipline to serve the art of the garment and the beauty accessory.

Elsa Schiaparelli’s shoe hats are part of the history of fashion. Created in collaboration with Salvador Dali, master of surrealism, these diverted hats made the success of the haute couture Schiaparelli fashion show in 1937.

Handbags and Diversion: Lego and co

After the hats, the bags happen to be the object of completely crazy diversion. And in this field, Karl Lagerfeld excels. For the 2013 spring-summer collection, he created the Lego handbag and the Hula Hoop bag that is completely disproportionate. He also signed in 2015 and 2017 magnificent creations with these diverted bags straight from the world of cinema and advertising.

Jewelry and miscellaneous objects: buttons and buckles

And finally, discover the diverted objects and used here for the creation of high-end jewelry. This is the case with leather cuffs offered by Buttons Paradise. Featuring an art deco or brushed metal buckle of the 70’s, these two first bracelets are subject to the diversion of a fashion accessory, the belt, for the ornamentation of a second, cuff bracelet. The third model is a diversion of jewelry buttons mounted on a pearl gray leather both chic and essential whose purpose is elegance and femininity! Cuff bracelets are making an impressive comeback!

Since 2012, we’ve seen cuff bracelets making an almighty comeback. The star of all accessories, and a must-have item, cuff bracelets have been adorning women’s wrists since time immemorial. This oversized piece, which was already very popular in ancient times, saw something of a revival in the 1930s, thanks to Coco Chanel. Cuff bracelets came back into fashion once again, this time towards the end of the noughties. In fact, in 2012 these bracelets were spotted on the wrists of models in catwalks everywhere, and on the runways of some of the greatest fashion designers. Now we’re seeing another revival of a phenomenon that has been around for thousands of years.

Cuff bracelets: something for everyone

Inspired chiefly by shirtsleeves, in theory the cuff bracelet has no clasp – or at least, that is how the story goes. But today there’s a whole range of different cuff bracelets out there: rigid ones, flexible ones, bracelets with or without a clasp, bracelets made from coloured metal, gold, silver, fabric, resin, Perspex and even leather. These XXL bracelets are worn oversized and close fitting. So whether it’s an understated bracelet made from engraved metal, or something a bit flashier with multi-coloured stones or delicate pearls, there’s certainly something to suit all tastes.

Cuff bracelets are great for an evening do or a summer’s day. Whether they are worn individually or one on each wrist; they’re the perfect accessory to any outfit. In 2012, cuff bracelets were spotted on the runways at Yves Saint Laurent, Balmain and Hermès. Because it is such a staple piece, the cuff bracelet continues to be the star of all accessories – which is why they can often be spotted on the red carpet, whether it’s an elegant Chanel bracelet, a studded version or something more minimalist.

Timeless classics: simple cuffs and leather cuffs

Cuff bracelets have a certain timeless elegance about them, and an iconic status that really sets them apart from other accessories. Made from fine quality leather, these bracelets will stand the test of time, and won’t age. At Hermès, the leather cuff bracelet tends to be monochrome and enhanced with a metal or silver buckle, for understated elegance and balance.

At Buttons Paradise, our leather cuffs play around with contrasting colours, and have fun with interesting button and buckle shapes. Graphic design elements give these bracelets a bold style and distinctly feminine identity.

With lilac blue, yellow, camel and strawberry red particularly on trend at the moment, these bracelets are often embellished with a coloured Bakelite buckle or a pearl button. These leather cuff bracelets are chic and casual at the same time: they’re the star accessories of recent years, and you can see why!

Five great reasons why the leather cuff bracelet is for you

© Buttons Paradise 2016
© Buttons Paradise 2016

Have you heard of trendy casual chic? It’s a look we’re particularly fond of here at Buttons Paradise, and it’s all about dressing with taste and simplicity, whilst still expressing your personality with some unexpected accessories.

If you are a fan of design objects in general, and you particularly like your fashion accessories, then this style will surely appeal to you. This style about saying a big ‘Yes please!’ to comfort and simplicity – and an almighty ‘No thanks!’ to ordinariness. It certainly doesn’t mean you have to forego your style.

Among these accessories, which can really add a splash of vigour and verve to your daily life, we particularly like these large bracelets made from coloured leather. Here are 5 good reasons why you should be adorning your wrist with a leather number.

Good reason number 1: Jewellery that makes your outfit

Blue Lilac Leather Cuff © Buttons Paradise 2016 Bee Original Leather Cuff Bracelet © Buttons Paradise 2016

Bee Original Leather Cuff Bracelet © Buttons Paradise 2016

A shirt, a pair of jeans…add a magnificent leather cuff bracelet, and you’ll be dressed and good to go!

  • Your outfit may be super simple, but it will look super chic. And you can’t blame us for wanting to be more efficient in the morning, with just 30 minutes to jump out of bed and get ready (i.e. transform ourselves into sophisticated femme fatales).
  • To give a touch of personality to your look, with a bold accessory that really stands out, look for graphic and design pieces.
  • Add a stroke of colour to enliven your look and draw the eye (hopefully drawing it away from your ironing ‘skills’).

With a leather cuff bracelet you will be striking…and practically flawless. What more could you ask for? You won’t just be dressed like any old person, thank you very much. No, you’ll have mastered the casual chic look, and be right on trend!

Good reason number 2: A large bracelet that looks and feels weightless

Any jewellery connoisseur will tell you that comfort is the number-one priority, and adds to the pleasure of wearing a given jewellery piece on a regular basis. Whatever the day has in store for you, and no matter what your energy levels are when you wake up in the morning, this leather bracelet will be your ideal companion. The leather is flexible and light, so this leather cuff bracelet will not get in the way of your movements and gestures – and there’s no point trying to deny that Mediterranean tendency to speak with your hands!

Good reason number 3: Perfect for in the office or out to a restaurant

Original Sail and Sun Leather Cuff Bracelet © Buttons Paradise 2016
Original Sail and Sun Leather Cuff Bracelet © Buttons Paradise 2016

This bracelet is perfect for day-to-day wear, but also looks great as part of your evening wear, especially when matched with a plain or patterned tunic or dress. You’ll find yourself filling your wardrobe with a whole heap of minimalist outfits, just to have the pleasure of wearing this large bracelet with anything and everything! This coloured leather cuff bracelet will be the perfect addition, both day and night. And it wouldn’t be right to deprive yourself now, would it…

Good reason number 4: An accessory that is feminine, not girly

With a leather cuff bracelet for women, you can play around with male/female fashion codes. The end look is modern, and ever so feminine. A quick history lesson for those of you who are interested: female leather cuff bracelets are a re-appropriation of men’s shirtsleeves and cufflinks. And in the fashion world, re-appropriations and re-workings offer a never-ending source of interest and spice.

Good reason number 5: A timeless accessory, with a soul of its own

Red Navy Cuff Leather Bracelet © Buttons Paradise 2016
Red Navy Cuff Leather Bracelet © Buttons Paradise 2016

Hermès leather bracelets have become an essential piece for the brand, and are precious and timeless.

Their most beautiful leather cuff bracelets are in their limited collections, and have been handmade with care. The same is also true for the leather cuff bracelets made by Buttons Paradise, which blend haute couture, vintage and contemporary buttons and belt buckles with rare items and collector’s pieces. The final results are unique and highly individual.

Featured here, we have a leather cuff bracelet in red leather, trimmed with a belt buckle in vintage Bakelite, and a cuff bracelet in yellow leather fastened with a large resin buckle.

Conclusions: There are so many good reasons to adopt the leather cuff as a staple essential. But in the end, do we really ever need a good reason to add a bit of beauty to the world? You can find the whole Buttons Paradise collection of leather cuffs here.

Accessory trends for summer 2016: structured forms for a bold look

Tendances-accessoires-ete-2016Leather, added volume, geometric forms, natural materials, black and white with a touch of yellow or red: these are the accessory trends for this summer 2016. We’ve directly based these predictions on what designers recently presented on the runways and at fashion week. A well-chosen accessory will always manage to add that special something to any outfit, personalising it and bringing it right on trend. Here’s a quick run-down of the colours, forms and materials that will accessorise your summer. Follow our guide, and you can’t go wrong.

If there’s one rule to follow this 2016 summer season 2016, this is it: mix a clean, simplistic look with a touch of eccentricity. Go ahead and find your perfect combination! Bare shoulders, seashore-inspired looks and see-through effects are all to come this season. Long dresses, dresses with splits and kimonos are also going to be making an appearance in your wardrobes. And to really enhance these new arrivals, we’ll be seeing natural materials, geometric forms and oversized jewellery. Along with your espadrilles and your flatforms, opt for ombre sunglasses lenses, a leather clutch bag or cuff bracelet, a large wooden ring, a pair of geometric earrings, and a belt, cravat or foulard made from natural materials.

Trend Number 1: Clutch bags and mini-leather goods

Handbags are just like shoes…you can never have too many of them. And this summer, you’re not going to know which way to turn! Among the on-trend it-bags spotted this season, pride of place on the catwalks went to the clutch bag, with a handle or shoulder strap. Small leather bags and mini backpacks are the essential accessories to your summer. We’ve definitely come full circle from the oversized holdall – and for good reason. These fashion accessories are jewellery items in their own right, and can hold a lipstick or a smartphone. Wear yours casually, whether on a trip out with friends or to a trendy party by the sea.

Trend number 2: XXL oversized earrings

The jewellery trend for this summer is extra, extra large jewellery, giving an instant boost to a simplistic, clean look and adds a note of boldness to any outfit. Oversized earrings can be worn by themselves or as a pair. There are large hoops and spirals, pompoms and tassels. You’ll see metal, leather, bright colours and zebra patterns. So now you can match your earrings to your lipstick or your pumps. And above all, don’t forget that oversized earrings can really light up your face and make it look longer!

Trend number 3: Jewellery with geometric shapes

It’s not just a question of excessive size this spring-summer season; we’ve also spotted some unusual jewellery shapes: jewellery will be square, triangular, linear, and circular. So with geometric shapes whichever way you look, it’s about time to get over those maths phobias! For the most part, we’ll be seeing natural materials: metals, leather and wood. As for colours, there’s gold and silver, but also black and white along with the primary colours yellow, red and blue.

Trend number 4: Transparent sunglasses

Of course we can’t talk about accessories without mentioning sunglasses too, especially for trips to the beach or park this summer. This season, sunglasses are transparent, with ombre lenses, and flesh-coloured, natural or honey tints. We’ll be seeing round, butterfly and geometric frames. These models illustrate the trends for the summer 2016 season perfectly. Play around with a transparent-effect frame, and with a mirror-effect or discreet, natural lenses with slight gradations of colour. Plus, this season’s round and oversized frames will keep you well protected from those summer rays.

Trend number 6: Jewellery made from leather

Leather is one of the key elements for this summer. It featured greatly in the handbag and shoe collections, and also stood out in jewellery lines. If you are looking for THE jewellery piece to wear throughout the summer, opt for a bracelet, necklace or cuff bracelet made from leather. Once again, geometric shapes are doing their thing. This summer, look for solid contours that are circular, triangular or square. Leather is truly the queen of all natural materials, adding a touch of chic to your outfits and bestowing her majesty upon your wrists. Two-tone jewellery, often made from more than one material, is also right on trend. A bracelet in yellow leather embellished with blue Bakelite, or a black and white leather butterfly cuff bracelet will inject instant energy to any simple and understated outfit, whether it’s for work or an evening event.
