Its vintage buckle, believed to date from the late 1980s or 1990s, features a generously proportioned rectangular plate in polished gold-tone metal, softened by gently rounded corners.
Two rows of openwork lettering create an intriguing typographic composition. The black leather beneath the cut-outs makes each character stand out, turning the buckle into an eye-catching ornament.
A vintage discovery, given a new purpose
I have paired this unusual buckle with recycled grained black leather, finished with a soft pink lining. Hidden from view when worn, this unexpected touch of colour adds a playful contrast to the otherwise restrained design.
The result brings together the confident fashion accessories of the 1990s and the craftsmanship of a contemporary Parisian atelier.
Worn over a bright red jumper, as pictured, LETTRES MYSTÈRE creates an arresting gold accent at the waist.
It also works beautifully with a black dress, crisp white shirt, high-waisted trousers or an oversized tailored jacket.

Each leather strap is handcrafted in my Paris workshop and made to fit your waist. Alternative leather colours can also be arranged upon request, subject to availability.
