Inspired by the bold spirit of 1980s fashion, this one-of-a-kind belt celebrates an era when statement jewellery, striking proportions and beautifully considered details were an essential part of dressing.
At its centre sits an exceptional vintage 1980s buckle, featuring a generous gold-tone disc adorned with a raised silver-tone square, framing a smaller golden square.
The arrangement of these geometric forms brings to mind the decorative architecture of Italian palazzos, where symmetry, ornament and proportion come together with remarkable confidence.
The interplay between gold and silver lends the buckle its distinctive character. Warm metallic tones meet cool polished surfaces, creating an exquisite contrast that changes subtly with movement.
To give this vintage treasure a new identity, I have paired it with recycled leather in a soft silver finish.
The understated sheen of the leather echoes the buckle's silver detailing, allowing its elaborate design to remain the focal point.
