I'm crazy about these buttons! Never seen such a beautiful series with refined design. Their shape is worked in roundness and relief on two levels: two circles in one!
Their back is flat with a tunnel tail: an asset for wearing fabric, thin or thick, worked with embroidery or not, which will be perfect. I like to sew them on a pure white so that they shine, but on a jacket or coat cut but also on a simple long tunic.
A button or two of large diameter is enough to create a discreet but certain jewel effect. On a dark blue, over-jacket or mid-season coat in silk velvet, a joy too.
And if you want to know more about their material, Galalith, it is a natural material, initially dedicated to jewelry: milk protein. It is a pleasant texture to work with and shape, although it is difficult to dry. Galalithe is antistatic, hypoallergenic and biodegradable. A Franco-German invention from the last century which is currently gaining popularity among young researchers to make textile fibers. So when you think that this series of buttons is vintage from the 30s, you say to yourself that you have the holy grail or the nectar of the sewing jewelry button. This is my favorite!
