Gaby Aghion, the founder of Chloé, initiated this unique approach in 1958, starting with the “A” Collection. She found the numbers too impersonal and opted for letters, thus naming each collection sequentially by the alphabet. Then, each individual piece in the collection began with the corresponding letter.

As for this series of “H” sewing buttons, know that in Gaby Aghion’s mind, the “H” was associated with happiness (H for Happiness!). That being said, there is nothing to prove that these vintage buttons come from this fashion heritage...
